Ron Simons

Four-time Tony Award®-winning producer

Dr. Ron Simons passed away on June 12, 2024. He is a cherished member of the Wocstar family. So many extraordinary achievements marked Ron’s career. He was the most awarded African-American producer in Tony Award history an achievement that celebrated his unique ability to bring powerful, compelling, and truly entertaining stories to life on the Broadway stage.

As one of our Wocstar Fellows, we had the honor of working with him to plan new projects, fundraise and recently had the honor of spotlighting him at Lunch n’ Learn in April. We spoke in depth about the his passions and the importance of storytelling - specifically why Black stories are not only important—they’re viable. He was an inspiration. Please take a moment and listen.
